David Blight
Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom by David Blight won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in History. Dr. Blight will shed light upon a critical moment in African American history and the contemporary relevance of Douglass’ story.

Rebecca Makkai
Bestselling novelist and 2019 Pulitzer Prize runner-up Rebecca Makkai’s The Great Believers is a stirring, spellbinding and life-affirming examination of how the AIDS crisis affected an entire community in 1980s Chicago.

Bart van Es
Costa Book of the Year 2018 recipient Bart van Es describes his quest to piece together the haunting story of The Cut Out Girl, about how one hidden child in 1940s Nazi occupied Holland changed many lives forever.

Jung Chang
Jung Chang is the internationally bestselling author of the classic Communist China autobiography Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China and Mao: The Unknown Story. She will speak about her new book: Big Sister, Little Sister: Three Women at the Heart of Twentieth Century China.

Nathaniel Kahn
The Price of Everything, a documentary which “shows how the art world’s financial sausage gets made” (LA Times), will be introduced by director Nathaniel Kahn and followed by a discussion with influential art world experts considering the relationship between creativity, passion, and today’s market-based society.

Jill Abramson
Former (and first female) Executive Editor of The New York Times, Jill Abramson has written the definitive report on the disruption of the news media over the last decade. “This book is essential for anyone who wants to understand today’s media and how it is effecting our society.” — Walter Isaacson
